У статті проаналізовано різні концепції періодизації історії римського права.
Зазначено, що найпоширенішим є поділ історії римського права на: архаїчний, докласичний, класичний та посткласичний періоди. Джерела різних концепцій періодизації цього права співвідносяться з історією Римської імперії.

The article discusses different approaches to the periodization of the history of Roman
law. The most frequently applied approach is the division of the history of Roman law
into: archaic, pre- classical, classical and post-classical periods. Different approaches to
the periodization of Roman Law originate in different viewpoints on the history of the
Roman Empire.
