Abstract:
Celem artykułu jest nakreślenie przemian modelu konsumpcji i ich wypływu na sposób budowania tożsamości.
Podjęto w nim próbę poszukiwania początków zjawiska konsumpcji. Odniesiono się do analiz G. McCrakena,
który twierdzi, iż początki rozwoju społeczeństwa konsumpcyjnego można odnaleźć w szesnastowiecznej
Anglii, i N. McKendricka, który upatruje narodzin społeczeństwa konsumpcyjnego w osiemnastowiecznej
Anglii. Ponadto analizie zostały poddane główne mechanizmy i czynniki wpływające na rozwój społeczeństwa
konsumpcji celem ukazania, jak owe zmiany modyfikują oczekiwania i sposób konstruowania tożsamości
jednostki. Podjęty został także wątek starego i nowego typu konsumpcji, a mianowicie „patyny” i „mody”.
Description:
The aim of this article is to describe the changes of consumption patterns and their influence on moulding
identity. The article demonstrates how consumption emerged and developed. For that purpose the analysis
of G. McCraken and N. McKendrick were studied. What is more, the author described the main mechanisms
and factors which influenced the development of consumption society to demonstrate how the changes
of consumption modify the way of constructing identity. Two systems of consumption: “patina” and “fashion”
were presented to illustrate the main idea of the article.
